Hey everyone, I just got my '03 V8 XLT back on the road after a crash. All is okay except when I drive the truck, every so often out of nowhere, I hear the beep sound when you open the door. It beeps 5 times, pauses, then does it 4 more times. All in all, it does 25 beeps (5 sets of 5).

What the heck is that? Two new front air bags and modules went in and no codes are coming up on my ECU scanner.

Sounds like an airbag chime. Does the airbag light come on with the key and go off when you start the engine?

If it is 5X5, its the backup SRS warning. The light has either burned out, or there is a short causing it not to operate. The Ford E- Vans and the F-150 have this problem all the time (short life bulb).

The codes below are the only two that would throw the 5X5 tone that are listed on my list of Air Bag issues.

B1869
Tone - Air Bag Indicator Inoperative

B1870
Tone - Air Bag Indicator Shorted to Battery

How can I repair this issue? And how do I find that code? It does not come up on my scanner? I did also just check and the air bag light does NOT light up when I turn the key. So I could just need a new bulb?

A blown airbag bulb would do it.

I would find someone with a better scanner and see what codes come up for the body.
