I replaced the solenoid block in the transmission of my 120k mile '04 explorer this afternoon (first time it's had trans work other than flushes in the 100k miles it's been in my family). Now upon restart, my O/D light is flashing and my check engine light is on.

Symptoms before replacement: sluggish 2-3 shift with flare, shift in / out of reverse was lengthy. But no CEL or flashing o/d.

I figured I replace the block and adjust my bands. So I installed a "tested and rebuilt" solenoid pack from "wholesale transmission parts". Now I have a code, that I will read tomorrow and update this thread (loaned out my scat-tool).

The solenoid block looked a little rough when it arrive, the pins in the connector were bent. It wasn't shipped in a ATF bag, just packaged in a box wrapped in brown paper. I called about it's condition, but was insured that "we test and inspect everything and our parts have a 2 year warranty" . I'm pretty hand, followed the sticky above, and used a torque wrench when required. I don't think i installed it incorrectly... I have not yeat adjusted the bands, so I know i didn't screw up something on that front.

Anyone have any ideas?
