6.5"s in 5x7s? and kick panels without loosing footroom?

as the title says... anyone fit 6.5"s in the 5x7 stock place? this is a 95' 4wd explorer

and kickpanels... how can I make a good smal one without loosing foot room?

Yes, you can fit 6.5" in the stock openings. I've done so in all 3 Explorers I've owned -- in both the front and rear. They'll sound best if you make a plate out of ABS or thin MDF -- or you can just cover the holes with dynamat.

I never had kicks, so I'll let someone else answer that ?..
