8.8 rear axle

unsure on where to post this...but im selling a 8.8 rear on the local craigslist... and a guy is interested if it will work with his mustang... he didnt clarify the year but i was wondering if it would?

its out of a 1991 ford explorer. thanks for the input guys

he now emailed me saying its for a 98 mustang

Will not fit at all. Will not bolt in and it is wider. The ring and pinion will go in any 8.8 though if he just wants it for the gear.

he said his stock axle is a 7.5.... but is there any 8.8's that could just be pulled off and bolted to it? im not sure what fords all have the 8.8

He can use it but he'd have to cut it down which would require custom axle shafts and such. He'd be better off using a rear diff out of a 94+ mustang w/ an 88.
