- 92 explorer 4 door
Hey guys ,
Hope I don't get flamed to much by asking questions just never built a explorer
I've owned a 80 Chevrolet k10 with 35's and a np205 and a 72 Jimmy with a 383 and a np205 and 37's .
Right now I'm weighing the pros and cons here things I found out to convert my 2wd to 4wd I'll need a 4wd cross member and left side bracket and all the parts for 4wd looks like 78 to 79 bronco or f100 axles are a bolt in swap with some parts .
Now my engine is a 4.0 not sure if it's a sohc or dohc can't tell and I have the 2wd auto reasearched this also to use the explorer t case I will have to convert the tail shaft and input shaft as well IMHO not worth it for a crappy trans .
So I have two options here use a divorced t case cheapest way out or up grade to a 700R4 and have a better trans .
What should I do ?
Run the stock trans with a divorced t case or up grade to the 700R4 ?
Keep in mind I want to run 37's or taller will the 4.0 and stock trans handle this ?
Will the bronco or f100 Dana and 9 in handle the size of 37's ? I have my doubts because there only 5 lug axles.
I like the look of full with axles and I will have a exocage with sliders and it will be rhino lined inside and out .
