'93 Exploerer XLT - Fuel Line Problems

Definitely buy a Ford relay for the fuel pump. The original lasted over 21 years! Or go to a Pick N Pull and get them for a few bucks.

Wanted everyone that helped know I haven't just wondered off. My history as a volunteer firefighter has shown trouble comes in threes. This is no exception. I got the relays then ended up with a vet bill and bad battery. Limited funding has slowed the battery replacement but I will let you know how it all works out.
Thank You

It was a start but replacing the relay did not help. I tried a few so that is mostly ruled out. Next step is checking electrical system.

Our gas gauge quit also, it's a common problem (the float leaks so it goes to the bottom of the tank) and I had the entire in-tank assembly replaced. Since yours isn't working, you might want to replace the pump as well as the float assembly to eliminate the possibility of an intermittent pump. I'm not generally a 'throw parts at it' kind of person, but since the gauge doesn't work anyway it might be an idea. There are numerous threads on dropping the tank or accessing it from above.

My gauge works as far as I know. I'm checking for power to the pump.

I pulled the PDB enough to check connections. I have good power coming into the relays both high and low circuits. I'm stuck because I have tried several relays for fuel and I keep dropping to 7 volts on the fuel pump side. Difference in circuits on ign side. Power relay showed no voltage on the ground side but ground side of fuel relay was 12 volts. If I'm seeing this right the ground for both circuits of the fuel relay go through the PCM. Any ideas. Thank you

Oops, sorry... I was looking at a different thread and got the two reversed as to the fuel gauge. Have you downloaded the wiring diagrams (they're on this site)?
