93 explorer sport has trouble starting when it rains

searching the web tells me that this could be caused by moisture getting in the distributor cap, but I'm not even sure if my truck has a distributor, and searching online hasn't gotten me anywhere.

basically, when it rains the car starts, but idles really rough, and I have to give it a lot of gas to get it going. After I drive for a while, it runs like a dream, its only at first when its raining...


So I ask you guys:
1) does my truck have a distributor?
2) where is the cap located?
3) are there any other possible solutions to this problem?

There is no distributor. Electronic ignition. I have no idea what part rain plays in this. Does your check engine light ever come on?

Old Ignition wires would be the next thing to look at. Since it doesn't have a distributor. It has a Ignition Box that is Potted.

Wires on these cars last about 90K miles before they start breaking down EVEN if the insulation looks great.

during my last round of repairs (a month ago) i replaced the ignition coil, plugs and wires...so what could be causing the trouble then?

Did this issue start after the Tune up?
If it did I would look back and make sure the ignition wires are seated properly on the plugs as well as pushed down fully. Something electrical is getting damp enough to be a problem until the warm engine dries it out.
maybe the connector to the coil pack. You changed it out, maybe disconnect and reconnect that connector.

Make sure you use die-electric grease on the coil connectors. I live in a rainy environment and moisture can cause some troubles just like this.

clean your MAF. check the resistance on the crank angle sensor to the values of a new one.
