Hi. I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the passenger side short axle shaft coming out of the front differential on a 93 Explorer 4x4? Is there any write ups on it preferrably with pictures? I believe there is a c-clip on the inside of the pig that holds it in. Can it be reached by just removing the front cover of the diff housing? Any help is appreciated!!

Yup that clip that holds the passenger inner axle is inside the diff so the 3rd member has to come off. And you can't just remove it by unbolting the 10 bolts you see in front of the beam, the reason for that is that there is a vertical bolt on the driver's side of the diff housing (the part the axles and driveshaft come out of) and that bolt has to be removed before you can take the diff off the beam. Also the driver's side axle shaft and the passenger's side outer shaft has to come out as well. Its not that hard to do, just time consuming, and if you aren't replacing axle seals in the diff, be real careful not to scuff the seals with the shafts.
