Hi all,
New to the forums here. I recently had my driver side front wheel bearing go out, which seized up on the spindle and tore everything up. Lost part of the brake calipers and brake pads on the freeway.
Fortunately the wheel didn't fall off until I was in a parking lot and backing up for a tow truck.
I have been given an estimate of $500 (almost cost?) for used parts which includes the entire "Knuckle assembly(not sure what all that includes)" and $300 for labor which I am splitting with the shop. As they did my brakes 9 months ago.
They said that the nut that holds the wheel bearing in place was still there and tight.
My question is, is $500 for the used knucle assembly reasonable?
Jon
