I wiped her down a little have not drove her as of yet. So no ida if she's leaking yet. Anyone know if that is an easy fix if its leaking or what.? just looking for a little info on it as well.. Also whats the next thing i could do to protect it the next time.

The fill plug for the rear diff is on the upper/front/drivers side of the diff. There is no drain plug.

The rear cover is some kind of composite (looks like fiberglass). I finally replaced mine with one from jtsmith (from the site). He powdercoats rockcrusher diff guards. They have a fill plug on the cover so you can fill it from the rear of the truck but the fill plug is a little high AND you will end up putting more fluid in the diff becuase the cover allows you to hold more fluid in the diff (thats a good thing).

As for the steering box, the original one on our '92 was leaking some (and was loose) so I just grabbed one (box) from another vehicle and installed it. I don't know how hard it is to actually re-seal one.

I've used steering boxes from a '91 e-150 and an f-250. Ford used that steering box on many vehicles (just the pitman arm drop changed).

anyone here know how hard it would be to replace the box or just the seal looking at it. Dont look hard but by looking at it is a diffrent thing.

Looking for info on removeing or fixing the seal in it

Anyone please thank you

where is the leak comming from on the box ? it might be a hose leaking an not the box. from looking at the pics its comming from up high near the fulid lines.also looks like you might have a anifreeze leak can see it on the front sway bar an lower rad hose or maybe you spilled putting it in .

I agree, rule out a leak from above the box, before you replace the box.

It's not hard to replace the steering box, I did it! ;) I would say it's easier to replace, than to try to rebuild it with a seal kit.

Im not sure where its leaking i wiped it down the other day and drove it a little looks like its comming from the top somewhere. But again im not sure looking at the front of the pump it looks wet a little as well. Like i said i went off roading with no armor and i really beat on her a little more than i thought i did cause now i have all sorts of problems.

As for the power steering im still looking into it as well. Here is what i can see with the pump. Its wet comming down the pittman arm looking from the rear of it looks like it bolts on to the steering shaft looks a little wet there.
As well up front where you fill it as well.. Is there a seal on the other end where the steering connects to?. Maybe got loose pulled out a little any ida's?

Also not leaking a whole lot to show on ground or to refill the power steering tank.

As for anifreeze yes i did see that as well after taken that pic. I have noticed that on the passanger side along the side/front rad where i can not see it leaks as well but its wet running down. Again not enough to show on ground nor to fill.

Also i would like mention this as well just after i got this truck my truck blew a heater core hose in the front had it replaced. but for some odd reason i can still spell anifreeze that smell is comming from No ida. i got thinking that maybe it had been that rad all that time as well my reserver would awiles be emty as well. No ida where's it going??

Here is a better pic when i took pics the 1st day i seen it leaking. But i think it may be leaking at the connection where the steering connects maybe any ida's?????

id say it would be on the return line cause it seems to be a slow leak. if it was on the pressure side it would leak down fast about 10-30 min.

which line would be the return line and also whats the best to check it have someone move the wheel while i look for leaks?

look on the back of the pump there is a rubber hose with a reg hose clamp holding it on it will then go under the pump an be in a v shape over the steering box bolts on top in steel line an then screw into the box.

No leaking there i went i checked it out looked at it all through nothing...

my guess is that its leaking from the bottom where that pittman arm goes into would there be a seal there as well??? cause i wipe it all down look and not comming from above pittman arm. i beleave its comming out from the pittman but slow. Could that happand as well?

yes it could be leaking from the bottom seal. maybe you spilled some oil when you replaced it in the pump an it spilled on the box an it just looks like it in the pics.
but my personal persona is if the seal is leaking gears are getting worn an might as replace the part.
you could just replace the seal an be ok or might be needing replacing soon after its a 50/50 chance
