my girlfriends 94 civic has a clunk sound from the front wheels when she turns right and left. Its very noticable. the car was boughten and the kid before had done a torsion twist to lower it. Shes had several shops tell her her C-V joint is leaking, i don't know what that is or what is does if it could even cause this problem.

any thoughts?

front wheel drive, my bet the CV joint is blown, sounds like a can of bolts rattling around when turning. common problem

Yes, that may very possibly be your problem. Take a look under the front end and look at the inside of the wheels. Look for any grease (usually a blue or green on hondas) on the inside of the wheels. If you look under there, directly inside the wheels, in the center, there will be a shaft going into the hubs. Right before that shaft goes into the hub, there will be a rubber boot. That is your CV boot and inside it is your CV joint. If that boot cracks or breaks, the grease will come out and the joint will clunk.

thanks i'll check them out

i may get ripped a new a-hole when i say this but i dont know how hondas are built.......is it possible it could be a bad hub assembly/bearings?

Definitely bad CV joints. I had an '82 Mazda GLC Beater (slightly better than walking) before I got my X. And it clunked whenever you turned. I didn't want to spend any money on that pile so I just kept driving it like that clunks, hole in the floorboard, and all. /me loves his X.

Yeah, it's the CV joint. My '90 Accord had that problem when it turned 130k last year. Got them replaced and no more clunks!
