Hi all,
I threw the Explorer into 4WD a couple weeks ago to pull a car around the yard. Afterwards, I put it back into 2WD and drove home. I thought I heard some drivetrain noise, but didn't think much of it.
Then, the other day, I went to drive it and it didn't seem to want to go into drive...well, it would go in, but wouldn't move. I had reverse, but no forward.
I left it sit for a few days, then on a whim, hopped in, started it, and threw it into drive, and it had no problems driving. However, it did seem to have a sticky front left tire.
Is there a checklist I might be able to go down to potentially isolate the problem? I'll start by checking the tranny fluid, but was wondering if there was some way to check the front diff/transfer case for proper operation.
