I have a 94 Limited w/ the JBL premium sound system (am, fm, cassette). The only thing working on the head unit is the am radio, so I pulled it and found the two harnesses i need to tie into (power and speakers). I bought the Scosche harness for premium sound and wired in a Alpine deck using the RCA outs to the speaker harness and had no output. I put the original deck back in and had output. Then I pulled what appears to be a jumper from the back of the original deck (black plastic with little handle that plugs in just above the speaker outs. There are 6 pins on the unit but only 4 are jumpered with the plug. Upon doing this I lost output. Is my head unit providing power to all speakers except the sub? If so I can use the speaker outs of the Alpine instead of the line outs. I didnt want to send 4x40 watts to a line input until I found out more info.
