The truck: 1994 Ranger 2WD 4.0 V6 Auto Extra cab

The problem: When (engine running) the control switch is off the AC compressor continues to operate and the condenser frosts over like a cold frosty glass of beer. Happens all the time since the truck left Michigan in June 1994.

The only way to shut the AC compressor off is to turn fan and air flow off. So after years of tinker it's either the wire harness (from factory) or the control switches in the cab.

I have pulled the compressor power plug off. Computer didn't like that and the truck ran like it had 3 cylinders running. In the past years replaced main and ignition control module.

MAF (MAP?), throttle position sensor, and knock sensor all have been replaced.

I heard from a ford parts guy that the control switch panel in the cab is fubar and should be replaced. The dollar amount is too obscene to print here.

Any one else have this problem? Solutions needed and thanks.

Also 3rd light leaks water in the cab 'header'. Don't feel like forking over obscene amount to Ford for another light. Silicon sealant not effective.

Thanks for any constructive assistance. :D
