has anyone had problems with the torque converter not locking up? the code that came up said excessive converter slippage. could that be the converter itself or the lockup solenoid? i just did a total overhaul (frictions, steels, and seals...and intermediate band), everything is working fine, good solid shifts with no slips...i just dont have lockup. any ideas?

Ty, the later models have an electrical connection to the brake light switch. It unlocks the torque converter when the brakes are applied. Maybe you have a connector loose, preventing a complete circuit through the brake light switch.......?

thanks. i'll check that out

everything in the brake system checks ok. im gonna try and get a hold of the ford scan tool and see if i can get the solenoid to work...i hope thats what it is. i dont want to pull the tranny back out and put a converter in it.
