My '95 explorer is sucking coolant from the over fill tank. I have found it bone dry the past two weeks. I don't see any signs of a big leak. Could it be dripping a little at a time or is there a problem?

Any signs of white smoke? Its either leaking out or its going out the exhaust pipe. Also, check for signs of coolent in the oil (milky white) or oil in the coolent (oily brown in the coolent).

Heater control valve is Notorious for leaking. It will only leak while the engine is running. Follow the two coolant lines coming out of the passenger side firewall and you will find it. There is a vacuum line on the top.

I had the same problem with my '95, turned out to be the heater bypass valve. As already noted, you gotta look at it while the engine is running. It'll leak onto the exhaust manifold, that's why you rarely see anything on the ground.

They're cheap and easy to install.

Mine use to suck coolant from the resevior. my problem was a leaking lower intake manifold gasket. Found that was the problem when it finally blew out and was shooting a stream of coolant out between the block and lower intake manifold. Not saying that is your problem, but just saying what mine was.
