I have a 95 xlt 4dr and I can't get the front axle to lock in I had trouble with it last winter(FEB-Mar 04) but i got it to work by tapping on the disconnect housing. I have afew diagrams of the axle lock but not sure on the workings of it, and i was wondering if any one has already been through this could share their experince?

I was also wondering if i had to replace the disconnect motor is there some place to get one remaned or rebuilt, dealer price is just under $500

Thanx :banghead:

junkyard. You can always take the motor off and shift it with a wrench

I didn't know you could shift the axle lock when the truck isn't moving??

I think you are confusing the t/fcase shift motor with the vacuum actuator on the front differential. I don't think the differential accutator is a motor. Engine vacuum causes some mechanical device in the front differential to engage and lock in the front end. Are you sure your vacuum tubing is connected properly and has no leaks???
