Hello all;
I have a 95 4.0l explorer sport , 105K miles. Noticed the other day that it was dripping oil from the front. The dealer says its power steering fluid, they want $329 for a new power steering rack, and $458 to install it! Does the entire assembly really need to be replaced ? or is it a seal (like I just did with my rear diff).?? I was thinking about a third party remanufactured one? (lifetime warranty as opposed to Fords 1 year) or should I stay with new factory ??? I will probably have my friend install it for a lot less labor. Anyone else had this problem?
