95 Trany and Cat. skidplate Idea

I was looking under my truck and trying to git ready for the Moab trip, and wanted to make a skidplate for my Trany and front Cat. I removed my tranfercase skidplate and turned it around and slid it under my torsion bars and it looked like it would work so I drilled and tapped 4 new holes and went to Ford Parts and got a new skidplate for $35, Hey it looks great like it was factory sorry no pictures but I think you can git the Idea if you look under your Explorer it will work 95+ OHV but will not work on a SOHC.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I have been thinking about making a skid plate for my cat. My cat has been dented and scrached alot while offroading. My only concern would be the heat build up because of a skid plate covering it.

Brian on my 95 the transfercase skidplate has the rear Cat. above it too. so both front and rear Cats. now have skidplates.
