'95 - When the clutch is released; acts like its in neutral

I'll drove for less than 1/2 hour, stopped, got back in started it again, got to the first traffic light, pressed the clutch, put it in first gear, when the light change I started to release the clutch - stepped on the gas but the truck wouldn't move (like it was in neutral). The longer is sat running the harder the clutch was to push in. Turn the truck off let it sit for a few hours then I could drive it around the block. What could cause this? I really need some help with this cause I'm on foot til I get it fixe.d Thanks
