Fellow Explorers: The connector to my IAT sensor came apart which caused the "Check Engine" to light up. I verified that the sensor was good using the ohm test in the repair manual before I stuck the connector back together. I have hooked it back up but the "Check Engine" light will not disappear. Is there a way to reset the system so it goes through its normal start up procedure and then shuts the light off automatically again? I have gone through several start cycles thinking that would clear the "Check Engine" icon. Any ideas? Thanks. David B.

Either run up to your local Autozone/Advance Auto/O'Reillys and use their scan tool to clear it (for free). Or, disconnect your battery for 15-20 mins and that should clear it.

Thanks. I didn't know they could reset with the scanner. I'll remember about the battery disconnect, too. David B.

Most of those places will NOT reset codes. Especially if you are in a community that requires inspections.
