96XLT to 2000 Sport - switching parts CV shaft

My 2000 sport is howling and I noticed the CV boot has a hole and the grease came out. I noticed pretty much everything on the front and rear is the same on the 96XLT and I'm wondering if anybody knows if I can take the 96XLT CV shaft and boot and put it on the 2000, need to confirm before I go and take both of them apart.

Yes the CV axles are interchangable for 95-01
