97 Explorer Sport. Shifting problems?

Hey guys, I'm new to this so cut me a little slack! I'll try to explain the best I can and any help would be greatly appreciated!

Alright so I have a 97 Ford Explorer Sport that's having some transmission issues I believe? It started a few days ago with a sort of rough idle and is now at the point were it rattles whenever it shifts up a gear? I had the air filter, fuel filter, and oil changed when the idling started thinking that might help, but it hasn't really done much. Basically whenever I accelerate and hit around 3000 RPMs the whole thing shakes pretty bad until it goes up a gear and continues the whole time I'm driving/

HELP!?
Any advice or input would be awesome.

I've looked into the U Joints and possibly the torque converter being bad?
Is the torque converter a possibility?
Hopefully I'll be have time to figure things out this weekend.
I'm really hoping it's nothing to do with the converter though!

There could be shudder if the wrong fluid was used. You could add Lubegard friction modifier to it.
