turn the volume up? I unhappily live with it....

I have been thinking of useing some kind of silicon that stays flexible but will allow adjustments.. anyone fixed this problem????

ps.. cant find the spell check button :D

I have to bring this thread back from the dead... sorry... my mirror actually fell off about 3 days after getting a new almani 12. Right as I was thinking to myself how impressed i was about how it hadn't fallen off yet, the mirror was free from the windshield for the first time in 10 years. Now all that's left is a metal tab that seemed to attach the rest of the mirror to the windshield.

All that amber colored glue crap is a failed attempt to cement it back on. any ideas? maybe take the remaining metal off and buy a new mirror? how would i take off the remaining piece?

they actually make some sort of glue/epoxy 'designed' for it, i believe wal-mart even carries it. most car shops should. I would think some gorilla glue would work, but I've only had my mirror rattle off the way you are able to pull it up and off.

My guess is that the adhesive just failed...Almani isn't really a quality brand so I wouldn't expect it to break a mirror off.

Wal-Mart does carry the glue you need though...just make sure you sand down the metal and clean it off with some rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol.

A new mirror might use that existing metal tab.

AFAIK, removing it might break the windshield. I have heard of many people simply gluing the new tab onto the old tab.

Oh, I thought it was a quality brand when I spent quality money on it.

An OE compatible mirror should fit the original mounting button which should be the one you still have glued to the windshield. If getting a mirror that fits it looks like it could be a pain, use Permatex brand adhesive. They have a few different varieties all of which work well. If you follow the instructions it's very easy and will last for many years even gluing over the old tab instead of directly to the windshield.

perfect, thanks! ill check out home dee-pot tommorow
