97 xlt radio station jumps around

My radio has a problem staying on a station. The problem seems worse when temperature is high. If I disable the rear controls, the problem seems to go away, but then the rear controls reactivate themselves somehow. I recently purchased the x and I think maybe the original owner didn't use rear controls and contacts need cleaning. Anybody else have this problem? Is it possible to clean contacts on controls? Thanks!

Sounds like Gremlins.

I'd pull the center console apart and check the wiring and contacts from the big harness back. If I recall correctly, the rear radio controls are pretty easy to get to. Good luck!
