Okay. I bought an Explorer without the trans in it. The genius I bought it from torn the hell out of everything. I toolk the front driveshaft off and lost the bearings and the carrier. I got another driveshaft with a torn boot and figure I can put one good one together. I read you cannot rebuild these but I do not see why I cant put one together. I put it together like I believe it should but it does not flex at all. So my question is if it is at all possible to put them back together? Also when starting it it doesn't turn the starter. No click, nothing. We jumped the starter and it started. Would this probably be the solenoid on the starter? Thanks, Jason

Jason,
Not sure about the starter but as far as the shaft goes no, you can not rebuild them on your own. There are bearings in there packed in grease and the shaft would have to be rebalanced after put together if even done correctly. I sell them new/OEM for 255.00 if you need one..and that's a forum discount. Good luck either way!

Put the driveshaft together. it only goes one way of course. Packed it with grease and well as I can and I am just going to get a new one in spring. The grease spines to the outside of the carrier and balances it pretty quickly. I do not have any front prop vibe. Works good but I will get a new one because I dont trust it. lol
