I have a '98 Explorer XLT that recently won't start until I add a gallon of fuel. The fuel guage will show greater than 3/4 of tank, but won't start until I put in a gallon. When I then take it to the gas station, it will only take < 5 gallons. So theirs fuel in the tank. Replaced the fuel filter this week and it happened again this weekend. What I have found is that if I shake the vehicle, it will start. What does this sound like? Fuel pump? Anything else? Thanks for your thoughts.
