Hi, my 98 explorer with the 4.0 sohc idles about 2500 rpm and it smokes alot, i mean alot. It smells like its burning oil. So let me tell you how this happened. I had a need for speed so i floored it it got up to about 5500 rpm before it shifted and at 70 mph i noticed it wasent pulling any more when i let off i noticed what was goin on. I got it home and parked it. It burned oil any way about a court every few weeks and it had a noticable miss at idle but take it off idle and it ran perfect. So did i finanly cause some internal damage. I herd a bit about timing chain issues but i dont know much about the subject. Could that be causing this,, any thoughts, thank u fellas
