Auto Zone oulled this code from my truck today. It seems to have had a slight engine miss for the last few weeks after warm up.

Anyone familiar with this code? From what I've read on here, the O2 sensors don't always remedy the problem.

Thanks for your input.

from what I have been reading...the sensors are report a problem, but are not the problem usually...something is causing them to trigger

its like a smoke detector...if that goes off, you dont replace the smoke detector...look for the smoke

Probably indicates a bat cat, passenger side if I recall.

You can either look at replacing the cat ($$$) or "For off-road use only", get rid of the CEL for five dollars worth of electronics parts and ten minutes of wiring -

If you don't want to be fancy, you can skip the PC boards and just wrap it all up with tape.

CRAP I just scanned a 98 today that had that code and it has a TSB that goes with it, it calls for a reprogram of the pcm, you mightcall your loca dealer and ask them

P0430 is for low efficiency on the driver side cat. High probability that the front driver side cat is dead, slight possibility that the DS oxygen sensor(s) are bad.

Misfire can shorten the life of any cat. Best to get the misfire fixed before replacing the cat.
