hey, howdy. I've been reviewing older posts on good options for clean tight ClassIII receiver hitch mount. Any updates/pictures on models that readers prefer? Anyone try a Putnam 25185? I've been checking out several websites, mfg, etc. They don't do a very good job of answering questions or providing pics.
Also, interested in using the ball mount ON the bumper in addition to the receiver hitch. That way I can grab an empty trailer in a sec, even if the 2" square hitch is at home in the toolbox. Is there room to get a ball mounted above the hitch receiver? Anybody tried drilling/tapping the 1/4 steel in their receiver to thread the ball through the bumper and into the receiver?
Haven't updated my sig file yet, but I'm running a 98 xlt with SOHC, 5-sp auto, and factory towing package.
