I have a 1998 Ford UP Explorer XT. The ABS fault light is illuminated on the dash. Anyone know how I can read the fault codes? I assume there is a method as the Australian built Ford Falcons of similar era have this capability.

I have tried replacing the ABS sensor on the rear diff (I was told this is a common fault as it fails), and that did not help.

The ABS fault light often illuminates after I have launched my boat in salt water. Unit recently when it has continued to stay illuminated.

Have you tried counting the flashes? That is how they are in the US.

How do I get it to flash? When I start the engine or just turn the ignition on, the ABS light illuminates constantly, it doesn't flash.

What kind of shape is the plug in. Possibly it has gotten corroded from the salt water.

Some OBD scan tools will read ABS codes.

Others will chime in with more advice I'm sure.
