I currently have my brake calipers and disc rotors removed from my 1998 UP Explorer XT. I notice that if I push and pull the hub (the end of the axel that has the 5 studs that the wheel bolts onto) it moves sideways (from left side of the car to the right side) 3mm (which is approximately 7 to 8 / 64's of an inch).
On the other side it only moves 1mm (which is approximately 2 or 3 / 64's of an inch).
Is this too much freeplay? Are the bearings shot and in need of replacement?
