Well I finally got my newly bought 99 expo running. It had only 1 quart of syrup in the oil pan so I had to do an oil change and clean the oil pan out before i could drive it. Anyways the expo has several little issues with it and one of the issues is I believe the throw out bearing. Anyways to my issue, since I recently got it running I took it down to the end of my drive way to the rail road tracks where there are some relatively small but steep hills. I put the expo into 4 high and just tried to climb up the hill with the front tires. The expo got about half way up and then it quit climbing I had the rpms up to 4-5,000 and it just sat there. The tires wouldn't spin or anything. After a few seconds of sitting there I believe it was the clutch that began to smoke. Any idea what caused it to not move and smoke. It drives fine in 4wd on flat ground and it even climbed up onto my trailer when i bought it. My Bronco II does the same thing and I cant figure out what it is. Any ideas?
