Has anyone seen this before? The 99 5.0 AWD Mounty I recently bought has a helper coil spring on the drivers side.

I know this was meant to deal with the leaning issue, but anyone know if this was a recall or a homemade fix?

I picked up this truck from a used car lot, and don't have any history on it. ...I'm trying to resize the pic to post.

That's some :afro: engeneering at it's best or in this case more like worse.

Home-grown for sure! Does it work??

Yea, that's what I thought. The pic is a little deceiving, the truck was parked on an angle. The spring is straight when parked on level ground. The next time I have the wheels off, I'll get a better pic of it.

Actually works good, it doesn't lean like my 97 does. When looking at it, it's not crudely done. I've seen worse from factory recalls.
