This is a question for a ford tech or anyone else that can offer any help. My A/C compressor is cycling in and out Apprx. 2 seconds on and 2 seconds off. The system is fully charged. I have bypassed the low pressure/cycling switch and the high pressure switch. There is a constant system voltage at these two switches even when the compressor is cycling. The wiring diagram on my repair CD is not very clear. What is causing the compressor to cycle? With the high and low pressure switches out of the circuit, I would think the compressor should run even if the refrigerant is empty. Is there a circuit breaker that could be tripping? What is the normal current draw for the compressor clutch? Any help would be appreciated.

I have heard of a few people having to replace the high and low switches because the refrigerant charge was within specs but it was still cycling. I think you should test the switches and make sure they are still good. The Haynes manual might tell you how to test them. Good luck.
