I'm looking for the two cables that connect the A/C control deck to the actual parts that move. The connectors on mine became brittle and broke away and my jury-rigging has made the controls hard to operate and ineffective.

I thought LMC sold them (I seem to recall them being about $40/ea), but the catalog has been updated in late last year and now I can't find them anymore. I need both the upper and lower control cable assembly (the tube with the wire in them with the custom connector on the end).

Anyone know where I can order these parts new?

This is for a 93' XL.

I believe the upper to be called the function control cable and the lower to be the temperature control cable. I can't find any reference to them, so your best bet is to go the local ford dealer and ask. More than likely they will say they are not available. Ford went to a vacuum system around 95-96 (and it is a very poor system that fails every time). I'm afraid the junkyard will be the only way

Funny story, a friend of mine had a mid 2000's f 150 that developed a mystery vacuum leak. The ford dealer techs said it was probably in the dash controls and it would be thousands of dollars to fix. He decided to trade it in on a new truck. Besides getting almost nothing for his old truck, his brand new 2014 f 150 developed the same leak about 4 months later. Our 2000 explorer does it too. You have to have it on floor vent or it tries to drive you through stop signs.
