Has anybody swapped the 1st gen "slider" controls for the later "dial" ones?
I know that there is a good deal of info on the EATC conversion, including some very detailed write-ups, but i think that may be a little too involved for me.
Perhaps somebody has a enough knowledge about the connections on the back of these units that you could tell me if it would swap over or if there may be potential problems in doing so.
Basically i would like to update the look of the controls by switching over to the dial style from the old sliding style. There are many control units by ford to be had on ebay from explorers as well as other models, and i am just trying to short through seeing if this would be possible w/o changing blower motors, relays, or the like. I am not as concerned with the pyhsical mounting of the panel but in ensuring newer controls could in fact operate the same functions that are in the truck now.
any comments, pictures, thoughts etc. are more than welcome
