I did a search but couldn't come up with exactly what I was looking for.

My A/C has been out for a while now. I bought the truck about 3 years ago this July. It had 51k when i bought it and only 80,500 now. Anyways, when I bought the truck the A/C wasn't working properly. I took it back within my "warranty period" and they told me they replaced the compressor. It was blowing perfectly cold when I left the dealership. I can't remember exactly how long it was after that, but the A/C stopped working again. I don't really mind or notice it much because I would rather have the windows down than the A/C on. Anyways, it doesn't need Freon because I've loaded it with that stuff. I don't believe it has a leak because the freon is still full. I can NOT get any cold A/C to blow out.. not even cool. The Heat works perfectly fine and the knob seems to be working fine. Does anyone have any clue what this could possibly be? Has anyone had their A/C fixed with similar problems? If so, how much was it to fix?

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

maybe it is the blender door

lots of ac posts here and in the AC / heater section of the forum. The question most asked to those asking the questions is "is your clutch engaging?". If not, then this is a likely area for further investigation. If it is then, as suggested maybe you have "plumbing problems".

yea i can hear it click on and off like every 4 seconds.. the bad part about that is my truck almost dies everytime it tries to click on.. i thought about the blend door but when i use my heat it works fine.. i cant test my A/C obviously because it doesn't work at all

I am just a dumb woman, so this maybe way off the wall, but I had a NEW Van that the air just almost quit blowing. It was still blowing (barely) and not very cold either.Anyway come to find out there is a cabin filter( my was accessed by the glove box) it was full of dirt. Once I replaced that it was cold again. I had to do that 3 times a year. I live in the country down gravel roads. It might be worth a try.
Hope I helped

What PSI do you have on the low side with the compressor running? I think 65 is the begining of the danger zone and if you have realy high preasure or no change in preasure while the compressor is running then the compressor might be bad. One thing most people don't know is there is a little filter that is in the line that is under the receiver/dryer(Black cannister) called an orface tube(3 bucks at Pep Boys). If that clogs up it can hurt performance. When your compressor is running and I assume that the cluch is actualy engaged, does it make any noises? My compressor is a little firm to turn but not hard.

throw some guages on there and get us some numbers.

Having the correct amount of " freon " ( not too much, not too little ) is crutial.

When you put the gauges on open the doors and put the fan on HI Max A/C.
