'03 Sport XLS
Hi all,

New to the forums here, but I have a few questions to ask.
1) I have a 03 X Sport XLS (2 door) and would like to lift it at least 2.5-3" but am finding out a lot of info, but nothing on actually lifting it. My question is, if anybody has done it, what are the available options? (2) Would I have to get a Sport Trac kit? (body lift, suspension lift, yada yada yada)

3) One post, I read that the rear axle is a through chassis (or was it frame, I can't remember, through something or rather) and a lift can't be done. What does this mean exactly?

4) Just out of curiosity, why are 02 and 03 Sport owners referred to the 95-2001?

I'm not a hard core mudder or anything, but I would like to beef up a little for hunting and stuff like that.
Thanks,
JDM

I used a sport trac 3" body lift, twisted the torsion bars and added lift shackels to the rear springs. Torsions twist is free (suggest an alignment afterwards) and I got the shackels from autozone for 20 bucks. The Superlift suspension lift for a sport trac will fit ur sport but for that kinda money I would do a SAS. I got roughly 5 inches of lift and run 33s with no rubbing at all. In response to ur question 3 the axle is not through the frame or the chassis its a spring under. I believe the newer IRS expos are like that.

I think that that will be my plan. It seems a majority of Sports are done that way. Thanks for the advice. Nice rig by the way
