Hey,

I was hoping some of you might know a website that has a better price than everywhere else. Please let me know, I'm looking to buy the following things for my Explorer in the near future. Unless there's a reason I shouldn't.

Front And Rear Floor Mats And Cargo Mat - Husky or similar

Hidden Hitch Class III

Bug Shield - I found some new factory Ford ones, should I go with that or aftermarket brand?

Vent Shades - Did Ford have factory vent shades? or is aftermarket the only way to go, if so what brand is best?

Thanks

Regarding the bug shields I would just get the aftermarket ones they are probably cheaper. I have an Auto Ventshade brand bug shield on my Ex and I think it looks good. I didn't even know that Ford sold bug shields. I see that you want a Hidden Hitch, IMO that's a good choice. I have the round tube Hidden Hitch and it looks good, it tucks up underneath the car well. The round tube design does have less towing capacity though, just keep that in mind. I have always found www.jcwhitney.com to have good prices. They should have everything that you're looking for as well so you can combine shipping. Although www.etrailer.com may have a better selection of hitches.

I have a hidden hitch that I'll be pulling off soon, probably make you a good deal on it.

All good answers. As for the vent shades, I've seen two kinds sold - the ones that stick to the outside of your door window with double sided tape and those that fit into the window channel with double sided tape. I've had friends who've said that the outer shades can actually pull off the finish if removed. I've only used the "fit up in the channel" type. Takes 2 minutes to install (for all four) and just as must time to reomove.

^X2 I have the in-channel style. I think they look better. Mine our Ventshade. I assume you have tried e-bay?

Thanks for all the responses. I called up the Ford dealer asked them about a bug shield / vent shades for my 99 Explorer. First thing they said is I don't know if I have anything that old (1999 isnt old to me) anyway they checked and they have some in the warehouse that they can get. Prices being $140 for the bug shield and $145 for the vent shades. Thanks but no thanks. I found a factory Ford NOS bug shield online probably the same one the Ford dealer has for $60 I'll probably go with that. I haven't found any factory Ford vent shades, I guess I will have to go aftermarket on that, I think I prefer the in-channel type what's the best ones Autovent Shade or other? Best price I have found thus far on the Hidden Hitch is Etrailer.com $136.95.
