I just replaced the front seal, bushing, and torque converter. The first questions is i went to autozone and they didn’t have the regular f type fluid that I normally buy in a big one gallon bottle so I bought the big bottle on the label it read I think dexron III. Is it much different from f type fluid. If there is a big difference can I add any additive to the fluid now or do I have to start over.
The second question is there is a adjustable looking valve on the passenger side of the tranny that looked like it was connected to a vacuum line. What adjustments dose this make on the tranny.

DO NOT USE TYPE F FLUID IN THE A4LD!!!!!! Use DEXRON/MERCON III.

That thing is the vacuum modulator, it affects shift timing. There ARE adjustable versions, the stock is not adjustable.
