A4LD Aerostar transmission.

Does anyone know if a 1995 Arostar 3.0 a4ld trans will work on a 1993 Ford ranger a4ld 3.0 Thanks

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the Aerostar section. If both A4LD transmissions are set up to be used in a 2WD, then it should be an easy swap. You already have the 3.0L bell housing. Both vehicles have a column shift, so the shift bracket is the same (although some brackets that are used on Explorers are slightly different from what I've read). The floor shift brackets are different. Either way, the brackets are easy to swap if necessary.

i thought the input shaft to the trans was different in the 3.0's to 4.0's as well.. i could be wrong on this but i remember something about this on a trans swap i did once before (it may have been a 2.9 a4ld tho)

but just in case, better check and make sure it all looks exactly the same before reassembly.

Thanks you everyone for your input, I'm going to pick up the trans today and see if it's the same. I was a little concerned but can't see why if both are a4ld trans from 3.0 engines 2 wd both with column shifter, Am I missing something anyways I'll find out today Thanks
