I got a 95 Aerostar 3.0 2WD that has a disassembled tranny lying around in the cargo space. No-one knows what was wrong with it and why it was taken apart. Looks pretty complete though.

Would this transmission fit into my 94 Navajo 4WD without too many changes? Can you order a new bell housing from somewhere (rumor said the bearing was gone)?

If it fits, I wouldn't mind to rebuild it. Got the ATSG manual for it - explains it very well.

(I have experience with manual transmissions, but too much with automatic)

I thought that the parts Aerostar was a 1994? How much of the transmission was taken apart? You might be better off rebuilding the existing transmission in the 1994 Navajo, and use the Aerostar transmission for parts.

Yeah, I thought it was a 94, but it turns out to be a 95 (8/95). Do you still want the parts? I started already.

Tranny is taken completely apart. I wanted to take it home to sort it out somewhen. Thinking of building it up and put it aside. The Explorer tranny still seems to be ok. It slipped a bit, but that disappeared since I had flushed it (the dealership didn't dare to change the strainer though).

Not yet. I'll put everything on a scale then check with USPS. There are no heavy parts involved, so I think we can keep it under 50 bucks.
