I just thought I'd throw this up incase somebody in the future has the same problems as me. I had to take my valve body out after a little piece of plastic from the screen/filter plug got stuck in my manual valve causing the truck to not shift through neutral. When I put it back together, the truck would not go into the right gear and the shifter was very vauge. Long story short, I ended up replacing the z-link, clip and washer and that fixed the problem. The z-link was worn where it goes through the rooster comb. After I got that whole mess sorted out the truck had no overdrive and reverse was slipping really bad. If I shifted it into reverse and gave it gas it would rev up and sound like things were slipping in the tranny. I finally fixed it for good this last weekend. It turns out that I mis-placed a check ball in the valve body. I will post a picture/scan of what I am talking about tomorrow but mis-placing a check ball was what caused all of my problems.

Thanks for the information. Diagrams are helpful. Did you use a shift correction kit or any Sonnax parts when you fixed the valve body?

I actually put the Transgo shift kit, sonnax boost valve and manual valve indexer about a month before the problems started. I am VERY happy with how the transmission shifts now. She is VERY health for a 190k original transmission.

BTW, thanks to all of you for the information on the valve body rebuild information. Also, the ATSG manual is an awesome thing to have.

This should explain my troubles.
