where do you look for the code?

Door/door jamb

i just looked on the driver door. i found where it says axle. then right under that the number 45 is there. and from the chart it shows 45 is 45 ...... 3.55C. is that what i got? if so, thats a Conventional Differential? why does my other wheel spin at times?

can any one explain what some of the other codes on the pic are? i figure the wb-102 is the wheel base lenth. how about where the r is and under the r is 9? then under 9 is utc. nect to axle says tr with a d under it. then spr and hl. and finally at the end is 9ltab with the letter a under. sorry for all the questions :D just always been curious what all this means. any input is greatly appreciated! im guessing from the code the tr with the letter d under it is my trans? that means from the chart i got the A5LDE / 5R44/55E trans? i thought i had the 4R70W.

Differences in traction under the wheels. If one tire has even just slightly less traction under it (different amount of weight on it, different road surface, dirt/sand on the road, etc.), that will be the side that spins first.

ok, i see. that makes sense. when the driver side spins, im not sure if the pass. side does to at the same time, sonce i can't see it. i know some times the truck in the rear gets side ways when peeling out.

which is better to have? the 3.73 or the 3.55? i know i got a sh*t load of torque off the line. is that why? the higher the gear id more for top end?

The ONLY way you have a 4R70w transmission is if you have the 5.0 (302) in front of it.

oh, nope. i wish. i got the 4.ol ohv. so which one you think i got-A5LDE / 5R44/55E

And that you have the 45 axle code meaning that you have an open diff with 3.55 gears

right. is that a good set up? open diff and that ratio?

Uhmmm, no. Each section is its own area. It lists specs for each different thing under thier own heading.

oh i thought it read straight down, not across.
