Hey all. I recently purchased a number of items for my 96 XLT 4x4 that i hope will make it a pretty mean machine. I'm just waiting for the rest of my parts and a warm day to put them all on...i hope to document it all and put it up in this thread as progress goes on....i was just wondering if anyone had any tips for me? Below is a list of what is going on it....

-Pro Comp AAL
-Warrior Shackles
-Rough Country 9000 Shocks
-BBK Ceramic Coated Headers
-Magnaflow cats (stock ones are messed up)
-Flowmaster Muffler 50 Series
-K&N Intake
-Front TT 2"?
-New upper control arms + ball jonts
-Lower Ball Joints
-Inner and Outer Tie Rod Ends
-Sway bar end links
-Sway bar bushings

Like i said before i was wondering if anyone had any tips or helpful hints for me........Thanks guys!

yeah im upgrading wheels and tires come spring time....i want 15x8 summit wheels with 31" Super Swamper TSL's or BFG mud terrains, and i put a question mark next to the TT because i heard that 2" in the limit without damaging other components, then ive seen 3" is the max...was wondering which is true! haha

The torsion keys do the same thing as the torsion twist, but with a lot more work involved. Your limiting factors are ride quality, and CV joint life. You can theoretically crank the torsion bars til the control arms are maxed out, but your ride quality will be horrible, and you will kill your CV joints in a short time. Keep the lift to around 2 inches or so. I at one point had the torsion bars cranked so much, that I could actually feel the CV's bind when hitting dips in the road at highway speed. Lowered the front end some, and the binding went away. If you crank your torsion bars and max out the bolt before you get the desired amount of lift, you do not need to get the keys, just go buy some bolts in the right size and thread, but longer than the stock bolts. That issue has come up, and has been covered several times. I would also recommend the AAL's, and if you still need more height, then go for the shackles, IMO. The AAL's will help bring the springs back to where they should be and then some. All together, you can do a 2-2.5" lift front and rear for under $200 and possibly even closer to $150 depending on the shackles and AAL's you choose, this even includes an alignment when all is said and done.
