Help me please
I have recently had my ABS computer and solenoid tested and repaired at ATE (repair auto electronics). I had no indication as to what was repaired and was changed about $x... I have installed the parts and my ABS bake light still comes on. Unfortunately, I do not have access to the codes. I am planning to bring the car to the dealer and have the codes read.
I understand that the parts are under warranty and can be returned if a problem is found.
Prior to bringing the vehicle to the dealer do you have any suggestions.
History
The ABS light comes on once the vehicle get to 10 mph. I took the vehicle to a mechanic and he indicated it was the solenoid. Did not supply the code? Replaced the solenoid with one from a junk yard (warranty) and the light still comes on at 10 mph
I suspected that the problem was a bad speed sensor. I replaced all the sensors and the light still comes on at 10 mph.
Sent the ABS Computer and Solenoid (original) to ATE.
After receiving the ATE remanufactured parts, I installed the computer first, did a road test and the light still comes on at 10 mph.
Replaced the solenoid (ATE reman). Bled the brake system with a vacuum pump till all air was out of the lines. Did a road test and the light stays on and never goes out, which is now a new symptom.
Disconnected the battery, hoping that this would erase any memory of past codes.
Connected the battery, did a road test and the ABS light stays on and never goes out.
At this point there is nothing I can do, every part of the ABS system has been replaced. The only problem could be one of the replacement parts. Will have the codes read (this time the dealer) and start the process again.
Some of the work includes:
· Replaced
o Front speed sensors (drivers and passenger side)
o Differential speed sensors
o Transmission speed sensor
· Tested and repaired (ATE)
o Computer
o Solenoid
