I've had a problem with my anti-lock kicking on at some of the strangest times recently. Mostly it happens when I'm going very slow and turning like pulling into a parking space. I'm in dry, stable conditions which is why this is concerning me. I'll be pulling into a parking space as I mentioned, and the abs will start pumping the brakes. I keep the brake pedal held and just as it should, it stops pumping and I still have control but I'm concerned that there may be something very wrong. It may not be in the abs themselves but has anyone else had a similar problem or concern?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just as an fyi, the brakes seem to function very well in all conditions including hard braking in all weather conditions. The pedal is NOT mushy at all. I had the brake pad/shoes and rear rotors replaced just this summer and they didn't need anything else. It is just a concern that the abs is coming on in slow braking conditions.

It IS possible that I need new balljoints... not sure if this is a part of the problem or not.

I am having the same problem. Have you come up with an answer yet?

Got the same problem here too. I'm about ready to pull the fuse I'm so tired of it.

abs

I was told after some fancy diagnostic work that "it must be one of the sensors" since it was happeining at the front wheels i did a little investigating and blah blah blah nothing was bad so then they told me i needed new brains for the computer because of the larger tires.... a think not so i pulled the fuse trucks goes and stops jsut fine now and no pesky abs which i disable everytime i went off road anyways

so i guess this was no help but do not them (the Dealers) con you they will diagnose a sensor but if it does not happen when they are hooked up to the vehicle on a trest drive they are lying i was told that the problem would not blow and therfore not store a code because the "problem" is not a problem to the truck the sensor believes a wheel is locked ... **** pull the fuse and get on with life or drop a few hundred and replace the sensors but wait it may be the brains of the system or... it could be the ring... sorry for the rant but it drove me nuts and i have yet to reallly vent

so good luck

Does this throw an ABS light if you remove the fuse?
