I need a little input here...
I have a '92 x that we converted to r-134 last year.. replaced compressor, hoses, condensor, dryer and oriface tube (put in a variable).. fluhsed the evap too..
It worked great last year.. this year it was barly cooling (clutch was cycling on/off).. found the shraeder valve was leaking a bit.. (didn't have the cap on it.. not sure when I lost that)..
I charged the system until I got about 35 psi on the low side at about 85F ambient temp (might have been a little warmer.. but under 90)..
It worked great for 2 days (50f air at idle when its 85 out).. then I noticed it wasn't cold.. and I didn't feel a temp difference on the lines to/from the dryer.
I checked the low side pressure and saw 90psi.. fearing explosions I let out some freon (I know.. not nice.. but I didn't want something to explode).. I still have 90 psi (I don't turn on the a/c now)..
Any idea what can be causing this? My game plan (unless someone has a better idea) is to have r-134 recovered, then I an break open the system, cap off the dryer and see which piece I cannot push compressed air through.. and then fix that part. Once fixed, put it back together, and have it evacuated and charged...
anyone have any other ideas or have an idea of what the issue is?
