Hi! I'm pretty new to the forum, and am looking for some advice. I've been having issues with my air conditioning, and by searching this forum I've determined the problem is that my blower motor is bad (I know this b/c the AC doesn't work on any fan setting, and if I physically hit the blower motor with a wrench, it'll run for several minutes before dying again). My question now: how do I actually replace the blower motor? I tried to pull it out yesterday, but the motor has these fan blades attached to it that make it impossible to just slip the assembly out. It looked like I would have to move the washer fluid reservoir, which I'm not sure how to do b/c it bolts into the fender somehow. I'm not a big car guy, so I'm not sure what items are safe to mess around with. Any help would be much appreciated.

Oh yeah, my car is a '96 Explorer, Eddie Bauer edition, v6. Thanks!

There are instructions and drawings of this procedure on autozone.com and there's a video of it on youtube.com.

There's 4 bolts, you remove those, then you remove the bolt holding the speed control servo in and set that aside. Now you should be able to get to the blower motor.

I just did this....you have to detach your air filter box, your coolant and wiper fluid tanks and move them over about 8 inches then disconnect the blower motor wiring harness and cooling tube...remove the 4 bolts from the blower motor and pull it out...u may have to wiggle it a little
